Islamorada, Florida has long been synonymous with fishing, and not just any fishing, but epic, offshore fishing for some of the most badass species in the ocean.

The mix of other species that are available is remarkable, with great fishing through the year, depending upon what it is you are looking to target.

From Mutton Snappers, Yellow Eye Snappers and Vermilion Snappers, to Mahi Mahi and acrobatic sailfish, no matter when you hit the water you are in for a good time.

THE FISHING

Mahi mahi (dolphin) is our main target and most popular during the summer time months. We run and gun sight fishing for them. We locate sets of birds through the binoculars and aggressively run from set to set. We consistently find large schools of bailer size dolphin all summer with some with some bigger fish mixed in. However July and August are usually the best months to catch gaffer and slammer size dolphin.

Our deep dropping season opens May 1st and usually best during the first month of May. However, there is good deep dropping during the summer time months, offering a wide variety of excellent table fair ranging from Snowy Grouper, Yellow Edge Groupers, Blue Line Tile Fish, Queen Snapper, Black Belly Rose Fish, and Barrel Fish. We have great Sword fishing all year round. However March and April are the best months if you want to catch an absolute giant.

The average size swordfish caught throughout the year is 75-150 range. However, in March and April some absolute giants that frequent out waters and some pushing the scale of over 400 pounds.
