Mayan jungle safari
Ocellated Turkey and more in the Yucatan
For the die hard turkey hunter, there is no more sought after quarry, than the beautiful, Ocellated Turkey.
These gregarious birds inhabit the tropical jungles of Central America, and while they are one of the 6 subspecies of wild turkey, they are very special, and very different from all others.
Known for their unique “song and dance”, these birds never fail to put on a show.
For many years, the locals would spot and stalk these birds, often shooting them from trees. Today, they are hunted very much like other turkey species. Finding birds on roost, calling and decoying, setting up in strutting and travel zones, will all be utilize during your hunt.
