Chamois hunting in New Zealand

Chamois are an agile, alert mountain antelope. These animals are challenging to hunt due to the habitat they live in and their sharp eyesight.

Chamois are a very rewarding trophy and with out partner you will hunt areas where regular record book bucks are taken.

These animals are hunted a variety of ways from spike camps, foot hunting and also utilize the use helicopters.

The big advantage with us is that you can hunt Chamois & Tahr from our lodge, so you can come back to your family or friends after each day’s hunt to enjoy the luxuries the lodge and chefs offer.

THE HUNT

Mountain hunting for us is focused on the best times of year to ensure success of quality trophies, this is from April to July. Hunts outside this time frame can be organized also.

Hunts are conducted on both private and public land, and are organized to suit each hunter and their physical ability. Helicopters and four wheel drives are used to access previously scouted hunting grounds to ensure trophy animals are both present and attainable.
