NORTH OF THE BORDER COUES
Coues Deer in Arizona
Coues deer hunting has become extremely popular over the last few years, with the vast majority of guided hunters venturing to Mexico.
But for hunters looking to shoot a fantastic buck without dealing with gun permits and the added stress of security and international travel, Arizona is the perfect option.
The state holds giant Coues deer, and our outfitting partner there knows where they live and how to get to them.
The Hunt
Hunts are spot-and-stalk in the rugged mountains of Arizona, so hunters are urged to be in decent shape to maximize their chances of success.
Because it’s big, open country, we recommend a flat shooting, long-range rifle, as shot distances often range between 200 to 600 yards. The guides will not expect you to take a shot longer than you are comfortable with, but practicing at longer distances is suggested.
Clients have maintained a 100-percent success rate over the past several years, and we see that trend continuing!
