Red Stag Hunting in Mendoza, Argentina

Outrider is proud to present this hunting program on one of the top Red Stag ranches in all of South America. Owned by a pioneering Mendoza native, your hosts have been managing these Red Deer herds for the last 20 years.

By introducing the best bloodlines from Europe and New Zealand to the local stock, they’ve helped to foster some of the largest and healthiest herds in the country.

The fertile valleys of the Mendoza Andean foothills provide great habitat for deer, giving them the nutrition they need to develop impressive antlers with some specimens reaching the 400 SCI+ class. Typically stags of this size are only found in breeding farms in New Zealand and Europe.

THE HUNTING

The hunting program on this ranch is focused on providing the best fair chase opportunities on some of the most impressive red stags in South America.

Most mornings will find you up well before dawn. After a hot breakfast, you and your guide (1x1) will depart by 4 wheel drive truck or side by side for the hunting area -located in the foothills of the mountains. Horses may also be used to reach large stags in these areas.

Drives to the hunting area may be 15 to 40 minutes.

Spotting and stalking is the most common method of hunting for rifle hunters. Archery hunters may also spend time sitting over wallows and watering areas.

The hunting can be arranged to include hikes into high country looking for big stags or sitting in a blind overlooking a wallow in the valleys or river bottoms.

In addition to the finest red stag hunting in South America, the ranch has a growing population of fallow deer, black bucks and wild European boar.
