Sonora Desert bighorn
Desert Bighorn Sheep in Mexico
Desert sheep on mainland Sonora signify one of the most successful conservation projects on a large scale.
Our outfitting partners and ranch owners operate 4 ranches covering over 260,000 acres.
These are some of the oldest sheep hunting ranches in Mexico with two of them operating continuously since the season reopened.
Decades of proper management consistently produce a 170” average with one of the ranches taking the state mainland record. Almost every year sheep in the 180’s are taken.
THE HUNTING
From the time you’re picked up at the airport you’ll be well cared for.
Pickup and drop off, from Hermosillo Airport, is included in the price of the hunt.
Hunters will experience wonderfully prepared meals, accommodations, service and advice/assistance on taxidermy and trophy care.
Lodging is comfortable and the meals all feature local culinary options.
The hunt will be spot and stalk with plenty of climbing involved so prepare for this trip as it can be physically demanding.
You will be scheduled for a 7 day hunt, but you can extend your stay free of charge if needed to obtain your trophy. This area holds excellent trophy desert sheep, with several of the current top desert bighorns coming from this outfitter.
